Tianjin Hosts Ninth Spring Commodity Fair

The Ninth Tianjin Spring Commodity Fair, one of the country's two large domestic commodity fairs held every year, opens on Thursday in this northern port city.

The Ninth Tianjin Spring Commodity Fair, one of the country's two large domestic commodity fairs held every year, opens on Thursday in this northern port city.

Some 1,200 businesses from across China are taking part in the five-day event, sponsored jointly by the Tianjin Municipal Government and the China General Chamber of Commerce.

The trade fair has 1,500 exhibit booths. Sources said that commodities on show at the fair in 130 categories included internationally famous brands like Motorola and Samsung.

The fair features furniture, clothes, food, handicraft articles as well as cars, and organizers predict that it is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors.
