Kim Dae-Jung Sends Message of Condolence to Chinese Leaders
South Korean President Kim Dae-jung on Wednesday sent messages to Chinese leaders, expressing his condolences to the families of victims in the crash of a Chinese passenger plane near the South Korean city of Pusan on Monday.

In his messages respectively to Chinese President Jiang Zeming and Premier Zhu Rongji, Kim, on behalf of the South Korean people, expressed his profound condolences on the death of more than 100 passengers and his sympathy to the injured.
He thanked President Jiang and Premier Zhu for their condolences on the death of South Korean passengers and their sympathy for the wounded and their families.
President Kim said the South Korean government will closely cooperate with the Chinese government in properly handling problems that are likely to arise in the aftermath.
The death toll from Monday's crash of the Air China passenger plane stood at 126 as of 9:00 a.m. local time (0000 GMT) Wednesday and two others are still missing, the South Korean Construction and Transportation Ministry said. The number of survivors were put at 38.
