Top Chinese Legislator Meets Mongolian Guest
Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, met in Beijing Tuesday with the chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia Tumur-Ochir, who is here to attend the third annual meeting of the Association of Asian Parliaments for Peace (AAPP).

Li said that Mongolia is an important neighbor to China and there is a traditional friendship between the two countries and the two peoples.
Li stressed that China has always attached importance to its relations with Mongolia and bilateral friendly and cooperative relations in various fields have made gratifying progress in recent years on the basis of equality and reciprocity.
China will work with Mongolia to jointly push for the continuous development of bilateral good-neighborly friendship and cooperation, noted Li.
Li also briefed Tumur-Ochir on the annual meeting's theme and agenda, expressing the hope that the Mongolian guest will offer his opinion on a draft declaration which will be passed during the meeting.
Tumur-Ochir spoke highly of China's preparations for the meeting and said that Mongolia is satisfied with the development of their bilateral friendship and cooperation in various fields including parliamentary exchanges.
He said he is convinced that this meeting will be a success, which will broaden prospects for fruitful relations among Asian parliaments.
