Int'l Exposition to be Held in West China

The Third Western China International Exposition is to be held in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province from May 25 to 28.

The Third Western China International Exposition is to be held in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province from May 25 to 28.

The expo is to feature infrastructure, environmental protection and pillar industry development, says Li Dachang, vice-governor of Sichuan.

The highlight of the event will be IT booths set up by 300 IT businesses from Hong Kong and the mainland China.

Exhibitors from more than 20 countries and a dozen Chinese provinces are to attend the exhibition which Li says is expected to attract an estimated 3,000 participants.

Sichuan will be seeking Chinese and foreign investors for 300 projects in the fields of electronic information, hydro- electricity, machinery, metallurgy, medicine and tourism.

During the exhibition, Chinese and foreign experts will speak on software development on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, digital China and WTO issues.
