According to the briefing of an Israeli official in charge of the workforce association the charges for the treatment and rehabilitation of the wounded Chinese workforces will be borne by the Israeli government and the Israeli insurance department will give them part of indemnities and old-age pension when they are cured.

However, the concrete amount will be meted out in accordance with the hospital health certificate.

Official of the Chinese embassy in Israel went to see the wounded in the hospital and made sure their identities. The Chinese embassy also issued warning notice to the Chinese working in Israel, reminding the Chinese citizens working, studying and living or temporarily staying there, including those from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao to "pay attention to their safety, to be out carefully and get frequent touch with the families in China." In the meanwhile the embassy also issued a public phone number, offering 24-hour emergency service.

Chen Haifan, representative of the Fujian International Company in Israel, said, the representative office has already informed the families of the dead and wounded and is now, with the help of the Chinese embassy, attending to the follow-up and treatment affairs. To prevent from reoccurrence of accident the company has already noticed more than 1100 workforces under it, requesting them not to take public buses when out during the Palestinian-Israeli clash period and also shifted part of the workforces away from the dangerous areas.

At present, there are some 20,000 to 30,000 Chinese in Israel, of whom 95 percent are the Chinese workforces and most are engaged mainly in construction. During the clashing period between Palestine and Israel many Palestinians can not enter into Israel for work. Therefore, Israel needs more workers from other parts of the world and the Chinese workforces, cheap in wage, become the first choice of the Israeli companies.
