A foundation against corruptionwas formally launched Sunday in Taipei, with the foundation's head vowing to take the initiative in helping people enjoy equal rights in court suits, Taipei media reported.

Yu Pai-nung, executive director of the Foundation Against Corruption, was quoted as saying that the foundation will take theinitiative in looking into social problems as well as in carrying out studies, planning and assessments.

The foundation will also try to establish a service network, providing better quality service, Yu added.

Yu noted that although the judicial system is independent, the average citizen lacks sufficient knowledge regarding litigation, thereby putting them in a disadvantageous position. The foundation therefore aims to provide people with equal rights when they go tocourt, she said.
