Palestinian Community Asks El Salvador to Relocate Embassy

The Palestinian community in El Salvador on Friday asked the country to move its Embassy from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv as requested by the United Nations, reports reaching here said.

The Palestinian community made the request through a local daily. It also expressed its solidarity with the Palestinians in the Middle East who are now undergoing "the difficult and unfair" situation.

Also on Friday, the Salvadoran legislative assembly issued a statement through a local newspaper, expressing its deep concern over the escalating violence in the Middle East.

The legislative body reiterated its support for the UN Security Council resolutions regarding the conflict zone.

Currently, only El Salvador and Costa Rica, keep their embassies in Jerusalem.
