Wang Nan, Cai Zhenhua Leads Chinese Table Tennis Top Ten of 2001

World and Olympic champion Wang Nan and experienced coach Cai Zhenhua took the Chinese Table Tennis Top Ten Award of 2001 Tuesday in Beijing.

World and Olympic champion Wang Nan and experienced coach Cai Zhenhua took the Chinese Table Tennis Top Ten Award of 2001 Tuesday in Beijing.

The nomination was voted by experts and long-time sportswriters during the National Table Tennis Training Conference in early January this year.

The Top Ten Athletes were decided by their performances at the domestic and international events while the Top Ten Coaches came from amateur, provincial clubs and national teams.

Wang Liqin, Kong Linghui, Liu Guoliang were also among the best athletes list while Yin Xiao, Lu Yuansheng won the best coach award.

China swept seven titles at the 46th World Championships last year, completing the record feat for the third consecutive time.

Following are name list for the Top Ten Awards:

Athletes: Wang Nan, Wang Liqin, Kong Linghui, Liu Guozheng, Ma Lin, Liu Guoliang, Li Ju, Zhang Yining, Yan Sen, Qin Zhijian;

Coaches: Cai Zhenhua, Yin Xiao, Lu Yuansheng, Li Xiaodong, Shi Zhihao, Li Sun, Wu Jingping, Xiao Zhan(Sichuan), Jin Lufang(Jiangsu), Zhen Jiuxiang (Beijing Shi Chahai Juvenile Sports School).
