Jiangsu and Zhejiang Advance into Top Four of CVA

Defending champion of China men's volleyball league Jiangsu defeat another powerhouse Bayi in a 3-1 victory on Saturday and advanced into the semi-finals with 16 point in hand.

Defending champion of China men's volleyball league Jiangsu defeat another powerhouse Bayi in a 3-1 victory on Saturday and advanced into the semi-finals with 16 point in hand.

Zhejiang, lost to Shandong 3-1 on Sunday, but still advanced for one point advantage over its chaser Shandong.

Home side Bayi started off well and won the first 26-24 set with a magnificent effort from their attacking and blocking. But Jiangsu soon geared up in the second set and began to exert their overwhelming power.

Bayi made lots of unforced errors in serving and attacking and conceded the second set 25-22.

The third and forth sets are mere repetition of the second one as the visitors firmly hold on their advantage and won 25-20, 25- 23.

After the victory, Jiangsu remained top of the league and entered the semi-finals with still one round left.

Zhejiang, lost to Shandong 3-1, still enter the final-four

Shandong defeated visiting Zhejiang 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22) with a hard 86-minute struggle. But Zhejiang, who had 14 points in hand, still enter the final-four of the league, while Shandong, Bayi and Shanghai, all 13 points, while fight for the last two final spots.

Other matches

In other matches today, Shanghai lost to Liaoning, 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-25). Chengdu beat visiting Henan, 3-1 (20-25, 26- 24, 25-15, 25-19) in Group E.

There were two Group E matches played on Saturday. Fujian lost to Hubei, 3-0 (17-25, 21-25, 21-25) and Hebei lost to Sichuan, 3-2 (25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 22-25, 10-15).
