Four people were killed and eight others seriously injured Friday evening when a thunder storm hit this capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The accident occurred at around 8:15 p.m. Friday, when a strong gale caused two work sheds at different construction sites to collapse.

A total of 42 workers were under the collapsed sheds. Four of them were killed and eight others were seriously injured. The injured are being treated in local hospitals.

The thunder storm lasted for some 30 minutes. There were reports of hails in some parts of the city.

Government officials of the city immediately rushed to the scenes to direct rescue work. The city government issued an urgent circular Friday evening demanding all the city's districts and counties make a thorough check-up of all construction sites, work sheds and buildings in bad conditions.
