Li Ruihuan Meets Bulgarian Foreign Minister

Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing Wednesday with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy.

Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing Wednesday with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy.

Li said that as with the rest of the world, both China and Bulgaria have changed enormously over the last few decades.

The two countries have developed friendly relations, and the Chinese government respects the Bulgarian people's right to develop in their own way, Li said.

He said that the two countries have increased their exchanges and have a great potential for future cooperation.

China is willing to push forward comprehensive reciprocal cooperation in various areas and will make sure there are mutual benefits from this, Li said,

He praised the Bulgarian government's "one China" stand on the Taiwan issue.

Passy said that the Bulgarian government attaches great importance to its relations of with China. He highly values the great changes which have taken place in recent years in China.

He reiterated that the Bulgarian government will continue to adhere to the "one China" policy.

Passy also delivered a written invitation, from Ognyan Gerdjikov, chairman of the Bulgarian National Assembly, for Li tovisit Bulgaria, and Li accepted the invitation.
