The Messe Frankfurt, a German exhibition company and the third largest in the world, established its 13th overseas branch recently in Shanghai, an east China metropolis.
Frankfurt city has a more than 750 year history as a venue for commodity fairs and exhibitions. The Messe Frankfurt has 10 exhibition halls and conference centers in the city, with a total exhibition space of some 321,000 square meters.
Messe Frankfurt hosts over 100 trade fairs each year, mainly in Asian countries, and other types of exhibitions throughout the world.
The company's successes include the spring consumer goods expo, the autumn consumer goods expo and international gifts exhibition, the international automobile parts and after-sale services exhibition, and the interior textiles exhibition.
This year, the company plans to organize three exhibitions in China, namely the musical instruments exhibition, the international exhibition of technology, materials and equipment for constructing stadiums and sports facilities, and the international exhibition of intelligent traffic, public design and parking equipment.
The company began organizing exhibitions in China in 1995.
Authoritative statistics show that over the last ten years there was an 80 percent increase in the number of international exhibitions held in China. In 2001 alone 470 international exhibitions were held in China.
