A series of events were launched Sunday to mark the ninth anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law in China's Macao Special Administrative Region.
At a downtown square, Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah unveiled commemorative activities including issue of Basic Law textbooks, arts performance, games and exhibitions.
The Postal Services of the SAR government issued special first-day covers. Members of various social groups gathered to learn more about the Basic Law.
With the aid of the Internet, a know-how contest is now conducted to publicize the Basic Law among Macao residents, who can easily enter a special portal, type in their personal data, and answer questions listed on the web pages. The champion will bethe one who scores the highest accuracy while using the least time.
