China's top legislators Monday joined deputies to the annual session of the National People's Congress (NPC) from Hebei Province in a panel discussion.

Li praised Hebei officials for the province's fast economic growth over recent years, which has led to further improvement of Hebei's living standards.

He urged the province to further develop its hi-tech sector and upgrade its traditional industries with new technology.

While consolidating its state-owned industries, Hebei should also further boost its private sector to create more jobs, he said.

In discussing the reports to the NPC by the supreme court president Xiao Yang and procurator-general Han Zhubin, Li noted that it is generally agreed by legislators that the juridical departments have made improved performance and that their level of law enforcement has improved.

He stressed that the juridical departments should continue strengthening their staff and fostering more judges and procurators with higher political and professional qualities and devoted to serving the people.
