China to Improve Management of Anti-earthquake Appraisal
The Administrative Regulation for Anti-earthquake Security Appraisal lists a series of rules on anti-earthquake appraisal work, saying any appraisal authorities that certify unqualified projects will face legal punishment.
The Chinese State Council Monday issued a document on earthquake prevention requirements.
The Administrative Regulation for Anti-earthquake Security Appraisal lists a series of rules on anti-earthquake appraisal work, saying any appraisal authorities that certify unqualified projects will face legal punishment.
The regulation also specifies certain key projects that must undergo anti-earthquake appraisal. They include mainly those that might bring about high casualties or environmental disasters if destroyed by earthquakes.
The regulation will take effect on January 1, 2002.
