3rd Meeting of Mainland/HKSAR Joint Commission on Commerce & Trade to Be Held

The third meeting of the Mainland/Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (Joint Commission) will be held on December 4 and 5 in Beijing, the HKSAR government announced Monday.

The third meeting of the Mainland/Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (Joint Commission) will be held on December 4 and 5 in Beijing, the HKSAR government announced Monday.

At this year's meeting, the two sides will take stock of the Joint Commission's work in the past year and consider its future focus.

The meeting will also cover the latest economic and trade developments in the Mainland after its accession to the World Trade Organization, as well as issues to do with the promotion of business and investment ties between the Mainland and Hong Kong.

The objective of the Joint Commission, which was set up in Beijing in 1999, is to strengthen exchange and liaison between Hong Kong and the Mainland on commerce and trade matters.
