Int'l Forum for Headmasters of Primary, Middle School Held in China

Some 1,000 headmasters and teachers from primary and middle schools in China, Canada and Singapore gathered Friday in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province to discuss basic education.

Some 1,000 headmasters and teachers from primary and middle schools in China, Canada and Singapore gathered Friday in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province to discuss basic education.

Bill Hogarth, an education official from Canada, and Chinese officials and experts from the Ministry of Education, the Central Education Science Institute, local educational departments and the Chinese Academy of Sciences gave speeches at today's opening ceremony.

During the four-day event, the educators will focus their talks on the reform, trends, and objectives of basic education, and how to develop education in the fast developing information and technological era. Exhibitions on achievements of modern education technology, teaching materials for lab courses, and educational books and software will be held during the forum.
