The Central China Testing Center for Information Security Products was set up in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province Thursday.

This is the third local sub-center, following China's establishment of test subsidiaries in Shanghai and northeast China.

With the aim of meeting the demands of China's WTO entry, China set up the State Test Center for Information Security Products in 1997, in accordance with international regulations.

The center means to conduct strict and effective supervision and control over the research, production, sales, application, andimport and export of the information security products.

The central China center will mainly take charge of the security testing of information systems as well as other networks in China's Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi and Henan provinces.

Another four authorized testing branches, now under preparation, will be established in Beijing, southwest China, south China and northwest China, respectively.
