Georgi Parvanov Wins Bulgaria's Presidential Elections

The Socialist Party leader of Bulgaria, Georgi Parvanov, claimed victory in the presidential elections on Sunday, defeating the incumbent President Petar Stoyanov.

Georgi Parvanov Wins Bulgaria's Presidential Elections
The Socialist Party leader of Bulgaria, Georgi Parvanov, claimed victory in the presidential elections on Sunday, defeating the incumbent President Petar Stoyanov.

The 49-year-old Stoyanov conceded defeat in a close run-off vote later on Sunday.

The 44-year-old Parvanov, after winning the elections, said that he is ready to work with the government led by Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Boburg, the former king of the country.
