Ax Murder-Bank Robbery Cracked Fast in Central China

Police in central China's Henan Province on Wednesday said a bank clerk is responsible for atriple ax murder-bank robbery which took place Monday night in Ruyang County of the province.

Police in central China's Henan Province on Wednesday said a bank clerk is responsible for atriple ax murder-bank robbery which took place Monday night in Ruyang County of the province.

One security guard and two tellers were chopped to death with an ax and 212,176 yuan (25,563 U.S. dollars) in cash was stolen from the Ruyang branch of the Agricultural Bank of China Monday night, police said.

Their investigation revealed that Wu Dongfeng, a clerk of the bank, killed the two tellers and guard with ax and cut the vault door open with a welding torch. He fled the scene in a borrowed minibus and buried the cash in two separate locations.

The police uncovered the welding tools that Wu discarded and the minibus in a suburb, and Wu was later apprehended and taken into custody. All of the stolen money has been recovered, police said.
