CAS and the U.S. Conducting Internet Technology Cooperation

Computing Department of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has lately signed an agreement of cooperation with American Texas A&M University on international cooperation and exchange in IT areas. Based on the agreement, the two sides will apply jointly or supportably for more research projects and launch a combined lab involving in information and bandwidth technologies.

Computing Department of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has lately signed an agreement of cooperation with American Texas A&M University on international cooperation and exchange in IT areas. Based on the agreement, the two sides will apply jointly or supportably for more research projects and launch a combined lab involving in information and bandwidth technologies.

According to sources, the lab will be located in Computing Department of CAS. It will on the one hand follow the frontier development in IT areas, conducting basic and advanced researches and, on the other, develop prototype systems and make them market-oriented. The researches include service quality control theory, guaranteed computing theory, large-scale Internet evaluation and analysis research and Internet update control research. It has finished the business-oriented development in update management system, Internet evaluation and analysis research and Internet update control research.

Meanwhile, the two sides also signed the agreement upon the establishment of English version��China's Popular Science Museum�� online and its mirror-site in America.

��China's Popular Science Museum��, a virtual group of museums involving all scientific fields, was set up by Computing Department of CAS, depending on their vast information data and outstanding talents. It now has 180 specialized databases belonging to tens subjects and more than twenty virtual museums like museums of animals, of botany, and of aquatic beings and etc. The invented group of museums also set up mirror sites in Nanjing, Dalian, Tianjin and Taiwan.
