Chinese-Filipino Student Kidnapped in Metro Manila

A 14-year old Chinese-Filipino girl student was abducted by heavily armed men on her way to school in Metro Manila early Monday morning.
Witness said four armed men forced the girl into a vehicle waiting nearby and rushed away, the Philippine News Agency reported Monday.

A 14-year old Chinese-Filipino girl student was abducted by heavily armed men on her way to school in Metro Manila early Monday morning.

Witness said four armed men forced the girl into a vehicle waiting nearby and rushed away, the Philippine News Agency reported Monday.

Her driver and an eye-witness have been held by police for investigation, the report said.

A separate report here identified the victim as Angela Pineda Dy, a high school student living in downtown Manila. Dy was riding together with her three siblings and the family driver when they were stopped by the kidnappers.

The kidnappers were reportedly wearing Philippine National Police uniforms. Follow-up operations are ongoing to pursue the kidnappers, but no further report is received so far to tell the motive of the kidnapping.
