Eighth Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Expo Concludes

The Eighth China Yangling Agricultural High-tech Expo concluded Friday at the country's only state-level agricultural high-tech demonstration zone in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The Eighth China Yangling Agricultural High-tech Expo concluded Friday at the country's only state-level agricultural high-tech demonstration zone in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

During the five-day event, more than 1.3 million people visited the expo and trading reached 15.2 billion yuan (1.8 billion US dollars).

The expo was jointly organized by 17 government ministries, the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the World Bank and the European Union (EU).

Almost all Chinese provinces and companies from more than 25 countries and regions, including the United States, France and Japan, brought their new products to the expo, the theme of which is the promotion of the modernization of agriculture with science and technology.

In addition to displaying the achievements and products of China's agricultural technology, the fair also ran a series of hi-tech seminars, investment and trade talks and exchanges of advanced skills and knowledge.

Yangling, China's only state-level agricultural high-tech demonstration zone, has more than 4,000 top-level agricultural experts and is regarded as the leading city in agricultural sciences in the country
