Belt and Road Initiative helps achieve sustainable development: FAO chief

The chief of United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said Saturday that the Belt and Road Initiative is all about sustainable development and should therefore be connected to the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. Jose Graziano da Silva, the FAO director-general, told Xinhua in Beijing that the Belt and Road Initiative focuses on not only trade and investment, but also on strengthening partnerships, preserving culture and achieving sustainable development.

Chinese president inaugurates Belt and Road forum

China, Uzbekistan vow to strengthen cooperation

Senior Chinese leaders vowed on Saturday to strengthen cooperation with Uzbekistan and push forward bilateral relations. China is willing to consolidate political mutual trust with Uzbekistan, enhance exchanges and broaden cooperation to benefit the people of both countries, Premier Li Keqiang said while meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is here to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
