Tourists visit the Khajuraho group of monuments in Madhya Pradesh of India, March 8, 2014. The Khajuraho group of monuments, or the temples at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh of India, were built during the Chandella dynasty, which reached its apogee between 950 and 1050. Only about 20 temples remain; they fall into three distinct groups and belong to two different religions -- Hinduism and Jainism. They strike a perfect balance between architecture and sculpture. The temples at Khajuraho are decorated with a profusion of sculptures showing details of life of ancient people and are among the greatest masterpieces of Indian art. The Khajuraho group of monuments were recognized as the world cultural heritage by the UNESCO in 1986. (Xinhua/Zheng Huansong)
