Haiti and Dominican Republic on Tuesday resumed issues related to migration, trade, border security and regulation of binational markets, confirmed by both countries. Haiti recognized the sovereign right of Dominican Republic to determine its immigration policy and naturalization requirements, although requested guarantees to protect the basic rights of Haitian descendants, according to local press information.
