A whiskered tern feeds its baby in Namu Silai Wetland Reserve in Zhangwu, northeast China's Liaoning province on Aug. 3, 2013. "Namu Silai" means the lotus blossom in the lake in minority languages of Chinese Meng ethnic group. The wetland plays a number of roles in the environment, principally water purification, flood control, and shoreline stability. It is also considered as the most biologically diverse of all ecosystems, serving as home to a wide range of plants and animals. (Xinhua/Yan Yan)
