The bureau said in its press release that since December, its anti-jaywalking campaign has been successful in restoring order to roads in the capital.
Beijing residents still have doubts that the crackdown will lead to efficient road crossing.
Beijing resident Wang Jingqi said that he is worried the government's crackdown is a waste of money.
"They have to station many law enforcers on the roads to implement the rule. I'm afraid the fines they collect can't meet what they invest," said Wang.
