The 14th escort taskforces under the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) arrived at the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the Somali coast on March 13, 2013, local time.

The 14th Chinese naval escort taskforce participated in the "Peace - 13" multi-national maritime joint military exercise organized by the Pakistani Navy in Karachi and the adjacent waters in Pakistan from March 4 to 8, while sailing on the voyage to the Gulf of Aden.
