Drug addicts are both offenders of law and victims. They are a very special group of people which need more special care in social administration.

At 8:00 every morning, Xiao Qian will arrive on time at a clinic in the urban area of Liuzhi City, and open the door, do the cleaning, and receiving the patients, meticulous in performing every task. It is hard to imagine that she used to be a drug addict.

Xiao Qian was a staff member in a company in Liuzhi Special Administration Area a few years ago but was investigated and punished by the public security department because of drug abuse. Her child was in the primary school. Her husband was also an addict and went missing. After released from the drug rehabilitation center, Xiao Qiao had no source of income and her entire family fell into a predicament. Just then, the aid and education group of Xinhu Community negotiated with the head of the original company that Xiao Qian worked in for many times. Finally the company allowed her to go back for work. After having a job, Xiao Qiao changed a lot in the thinking, made positive efforts in work, and has now become the person in charge of the clinic of the company.

Xiao Gang (alias) is a villager from Jianshan village, Lanba Town, Shuicheng County, and got into drug habits in 2007. After released from the drug treatment center in 2008, the anti-drug staff of the town government, the police station, and the village committee visited his home for many times for aid and education and finally persuaded him to embark on a road of self-employment.

Mr. Ye is a 50-year-old person from Nanmen Village, Chengguan Town, Pan County, and had many years of drug habits. Last year, he was sent to the drug treatment center because of relapse. After released from the center, the village committee regarded him as key admonishing object, and explained to him about the “Sunshine Project” to help him re-establish confidence in life. Today, Mr. Ye is fairly well-known for his craft in the root carving industry.
