Lack of spirit of comity prevails in contemporary China (2)

63 percent of respondents agreed with the statement "people giving precedence to others suffer losses."

The survey shows that about 63 percent of respondents agreed with the opinion that "people giving precedence to others suffer losses," 35 percent disagreed with it and 2.7 percent said they were hard to make a choice.

Ethics research director of the School of Philosophy and Social Development under Shandong University Bian Shaobin pointed out that due to the prevalence of social utilitarianism, most people will weigh the pros and cons to do something.

The lack of spirit of comity highlighted the imperfection and deficiency of social rules

Why does our society lack of spirit of comity? In the survey, about 69 percent of respondents said that many of people care too much for their own interests and 67 percent said that the society becomes more and more fickle. The other reasons include "backward quality education for citizens (57 percent)," "unpopular spirit of helping others (53 percent)," "competition not comity is emphasized by eduction(52 percent)" and "increasingly competitive interpersonal relationship (41 percent)."
