The staff member said that investigators found no evidence that Gu had been pushed out of the window. However, they did find the boy's footprints on his desk, which sat next to the window. "The boy didn't leave behind a note. He was not depressed," the staff member told the Global Times.
Although the boy was facing the high school entrance examination, he was doing quite well in school and his teachers had not noticed anything wrong with him before his death.
Police are still investigating the fall.
