PLA Daily:Who on earth is sabotaging regional stability? (2)

(PLA Daily)

08:15, September 18, 2012

Media revealed that among the 8 schemes that the Japanese government made with regards to the Diaoyu Islands, there was even such consideration to permanently station Japanese self-defense forces on the Diaoyu Islands. Some right-wing extremists even called for war against China and clamored for the disruption of the modernization process in China. If this is not sabotage of the regional stability, then what is it? If it is not an act of destroying regional peace, what else could it be?

China has long adhered to a foreign policy of keeping kind and friendly relationships with surrounding neighbors. China has committed to using its own peaceful development to bring about regional development, and making itself the important constructive force to safeguard regional peace and stability and promote regional prosperity. China has worked with many of its neighboring countries to delineate the land borders, and collaborated with the other Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in passing the world's first political document for the construction of a harmonious region.

The new security concept of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and coordination and cooperation advocated by China as well as the national defense policy defensive in nature practiced by China have generated positive influence in the region. The international image of China for peace and friendliness has been widely recognized and praised.

Here, we want to admonish the Japanese government: Abandon your petty tricks and grow wiser. Do not sacrifice justice for profits. Don't get your head dazzled by narrow-minded nationalism for selfish ends and commit any reckless moves that threaten the peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.

The peace-inclined Chinese people embrace both a "kind heart" and a "heavy hand" ready to deal with those who infringe upon China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese people love peace, but we are not afraid of any provocation imposed upon us.
