(People's Daily Online)

The "Al-Qaeda" also began expanding to the hinterland of Africa. The North African branch of "Al Qaeda" in the Islamic Maghreb had taken advantage of the Libyan civil war to snatch and hoard large quantities of weapons and munitions last year.

The "Al-Shabab" of Somalia formally announced to join the "Al-Qaeda" in Feb. 2012. With the coalition of terrorist forces and tribal militants, a new terrorist zone running through Arabian Peninsula, East Africa, West Africa and North Africa may take shape.

Historically, the "Al-Qaeda" had fled hither and thither in Pakistan, Afghanistan, West Asian and North Africa. The international community should be highly vigilant against the reviving of the terrorist forces in these regions, inducing terror complications.
