Third, regularly check the water temperature and oil pressure gauges on the dashboard during the tour, and immediately pull off if the reading exceeds the normal range or something goes wrong. Fill up your fuel tank when the fuel gauge reaches half or less, and be sure to find a gas station before the low fuel light goes on. You'd better not drive at night, but if you have to, you should drive slowly and switch between high and low beam headlights. Most destinations of self-drive tours are scenic spots, where fog and rain showers occur from time to time. On foggy days, you should drive at low speeds on a highway, or drive immediately to the nearest parking lot if you are on a freeway. On rainy days, you should pay attention to slippery roads, and cross accumulated rainwater on the road using low gears and stable speeds, instead of pressing the accelerator to cross the water.
