The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China has recently announced that Dongfeng Automobile will recall the Teana sedans powered by QR20 engines and produced between July 27, 2005 and April 23, 2008, involving a total of 11,277 vehicles. The reason is that these vehicles have a defective sensor in engines.
Some of the cars recalled this time have such a problem that, when the sensor at the engine crankshaft position has worked for a long period in a high-temperature condition, its internal welding points may break. That will light up the failure warning light or accelerate the failure. In this situation, the engine may stop working while the car is running at a low speed, leading to a potential risk.
The manager of a Beijing distribution store of the Dongfeng Motor Corporation Jin Xiaofeng told the reporter, "Although these cars are already not in the guarantee period of three years, the company, out of the sense of responsibility, will still recall them." The Dongfeng Motor Corporation will replace sensors of these cars with improved ones to eliminate the potential risk.
Meanwhile, Nissan declared that, due to defect of the front guide plate, starting from Aug. 22, it will recall 360 imported Civilian buses sold in China. The buses recalled this time are only the W41-type Civilian buses produced between Nov. 28, 2005 and Sep. 30, 2010.
In addition, since July 27, Jaguar Land Rover PLC has been recalling 2,229 Freelaner-2 SUVs produced between Sep. 19, 2011 and April 20, 2012, due to a problem of its powder steering hose, which may lead to oil leakage or even burning.
