China’s Top Water Towns – Xi Tang

Xi Tang, one of the six ancient towns south of the Yangtze River, is in Jiashan County, Zhejiang province. It’s in the middle of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou, with 100kilometers from each. The major difference about Xi Tang and the other ancient towns lies in the ceilinged corridors beside the river. Some say it’s like the Summer Palace Corridor. A special structure linked all the river and stores built on the strees along the river and it protected people from the sun and the rain. The most famous attractions are Shipi (Stone Skin) Lane, Mist and Rain Corridor, West Garden and Laifeng Bridge. The whole scenery in this town is just like paiting and the famous film Mission Impossible III chose here for one of the set.
