Top Must-See Sites in Xi’An – Big Wild Goose Pagodas

Before the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses were found and got popular among the tourists, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda was Xi’An’s number one landmark. Regarded as the symbol of this ancient capital, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is located in the Temple of Great Maternal Grace. The place was constructed to house and protect Buddhist sutras and figurines bought by Master Xuanzang from India. This square pyramid structure was firstly built with 5 stories in the Tang Dynasty and later rebuilt to seven stories. The height from the ground to top is 64 meters and you may get the best view of Xi’An city by climbing to the top.
