USCIS spokesman told People's Daily Online USA that people in China can participate in the session by teleconference or via live web stream. They can also submit email in Chinese during the event.

"These engagements provide a critical dialogue to better inform those who seek USCIS benefits and services," the spokesman said.

The first Jiao Liu engagement session was hosted on February 16 in San Francisco, California. The theme was on "The Naturalization Process: Becoming a United States Citizen." There were 1,593 participants worldwide attended the event. Out of which there were 484 people participates via live Web stream from 37 states and seven different countries.

"The inaugural Jiao Liu session held on February 16was well received by the Chinese community," USCIS Spokesman told People's Daily Online USA. "Attendance was high and as hoped, the session was deemed a success by participants and staff alike."

Although USCIS emphasizes on eliminating the language barrier and facilitating a more transparent access for Chinese, their official Jiao Liu website is shown in Englishonly. When asked if the department will launch a Chinese Jiao Liu website in the near future, the Spokesman told People's Daily Online USA that “this is something not determined yet".

The time, location, and topic about the next engagement session are not determined yet either.
