What is behind US 'Return-to-Asia' strategy? (3)

(China Military Online)

20:43, December 27, 2011

Mackinder's followers have applied this strategy to Asia, and believed that controlling South China Sea will make the U.S. air force and navy command East Asia, and consequently command the "World Island".

Reporter: In fact, the United States has never been away from Asia. What kind of impact will the so-called "return to Asia" strategy bring to the Asia-Pacific region?

Lin Zhiyuan: Currently, the situation in Europe is under the American control, and the situation in the Middle East is beneficial to the United States. The world's geographic center is transferring from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and the Asia-Pacific region has become the world's political and economic center.

The United States is eager to find a new way to consolidate its dominant position in this region. As for the interior political situation, the American political struggle has entered a critical stage and the economy maintains depressed. Under such circumstance, the Obama administration needs to be more aggressive in military and diplomacy in order to create favorable conditions to win the presidency election. Therefore, the American global strategy shows a layout of stabilizing in Europe, "shrinking" appropriately in the Middle East and "expanding" in the Asia-Pacific region.

The strategic adjustment of the United States will pose a great challenge to the geopolitical situation in the Asia-Pacific region and even the world order. The American intervention in some regions' hot spots will result in a more complicated strategic environment for China's peaceful rise.

There is a saying in Urdu that goes "whoever owns the stick, owns the buffalo". It is quite funny when USA says, that it is not trying to contain the Peoples Republic of China. USA is the biggest human persecutor, and violator of human rights in the world. USA murders many innocent people daily with its drone terror attacks. USA has no ideological enimity with the DPRK or Pakistan, but unfortunately or fortunately these two countries ally themselves with China. USA works to promote the interests and policies of the Catholic Church, and supports persecution of Muslims in Kashmir and Palestine. USA itself has no ideoligical foundation, because USA does not believe in secularism, or respect for human rights, or democracy, or freedom. USA is going around building relations with all the enemies of the Chinese world and the Muslim world. What in other words this really means is that, USA wants to be the "owner of the stick", USA wants an upper hand, and once USA has the upper hand it will easily contain the Chinese world and the Muslim world, and continue its policies of persecution.

The Pacific region had been relatively peaceful without the US strong presence so far. The US had been focusing on the Middle East and looked what a mess it had generated. The US had literally being defeated in Afghanistan and Iraq that they had to pull out before being crushed by the Talibans; and not to mention their threats to Iran is futile. We do not need a strong US presence in the Pacific region as it will only lead to disaster. The US had been here before but had also hurriedly left after suffering defeat to the Vietcongs (North Vietnam).

Must we state the obvious:-To contain, strangle, encircle China militarily, demonise, provoke, bring about the collapse of the Chinese government and the CPC and to return the Chinese people to the dark ages! The CPC and the Chinese people will NEVER allow US Global Tyranny to succeed in its vile and evil scheme against China.A modernised and strong PLA will continue to safeguard China sovereignty, territorial integrity and Chinese dignity. Strong PLA power protects peace!

If US is to return to Asia, the main few reasons could be 1) To prevent China monopolising Asia and US keep losing her friends in Asia. 2) Militarily its better to start fire in other"s kitchen than own garden, and if another round of arm race ; this time may be China vs. US, means more arm sales for US, means more money for the big brothers. 3) US is losing her credential in view of the recent global development, so to shake up Asia is a new tur, and China. the target. 4) US election is near, so some political mileage gain by pointing faults at China would be one of the best move to lure votes (It had always been like that over the past 25 years.) So China have to play the game well.
